Getting to Hear Manager-Umpire Arguments Almost Makes Having No Fans Worth It

Marlins manager Don Mattingly was ejected in the fifth inning of Miami's game against the Atlanta Bravers Sunday after arguing balls and strikes from the dugout. Upon receiving his ejection, Mattingly did what is pretty commonplace and came out to give home plate umpire James Hoye a piece of his mind, having nothing to lose at that point.

And with no fans in Marlins Park, the Fox Sports South broadcast team of Chip Caray, Tom Glavine and Jeff Francoeur did us all a favor and just laid out and let the f-bombs fly on live television. And it was a treat to watch.

You can hear just about every word of the argument between Mattingly and Hoye when they're not yelling over each other. It used to be a big deal when the audio of a funny argument would come out because MLB always tried to keep those from leaking, but now we get it live on air. My favorite part is when Hoye get exasperated with the argument and says, "Oh so we're fucking you? OK, Don. That's fine." We've all been there.

For obvious FCC reasons, every team can't turn the mics up and air all these live, but if baseball wanted to get more play on social media, every argument between a manager and umpire should be released online for everyone to enjoy. If we can't be at the games, I feel we're owed that.
