Rugby Lunatic Sprints Through A Wall Of Bricks For A Rookie Contract

Triple M- Is this going too far for a NRL Rookie contract? Dave in Blacktown runs into a wall of bricks for his audition video. So the obvious question is… why? “Mate, I love footy,” he said. “All these people lifting weights… what’s that got to do with the footy field? Yeah, it makes you better physically but it’s what’s ‘here’ that counts (pointing to his chest).” He then proceeds to run, full-on, into a wall of bricks. Watch the video below. The NRL has teamed up with Channel 9 for a new rugby league Reality TV Show called “The NRL Rookie”. And that’s exactly the way I assume all rugby players behave. So I’m not really sure if my reaction should be, “HOLY SHIT!  THAT DUDE JUST RAN THROUGH A BRICK WALL!” or “Just another Tuesday for rugby players.”  I’m gonna go with the latter.  Feels like it’s just a part of their workout regimen.  Stretch out, strategize a few plays, tackling drills, water break, run through a brick wall, conditioning.  Practice over.  Any rugby player who I’ve ever met has at least one screw loose.  I mean you kinda have to to be like, “Hey, you know that sport of football where they wear all those protective pads and run into each other going really really fast and get injured a lot?  Well I’m gonna play that sport but without the pads. LET’S DO IT (Joe Swanson voice)!”  But hey all for the love of the game and like the guy said, he loves footy.
