ESPN - The New York Jets will be fined $100,000 as punishment for owner Woody Johnson’s comments last year about Darrelle Revis but will not lose any draft picks, sources confirmed to ESPN. Woody Johnson’s comments in December about Darrelle Revis will cost the Jets a $100,000 fine from the NFL. The Patriots filed tampering charges against the Jets after Johnson said he would “love to have Darrelle back” during a news conference in December, when the star cornerback was still playing for New England. Revis eventually signed a five-year, $70 million deal to return to the Jets this offseason, prompting Patriots owner Robert Kraft to say that he wished Revis “was still with us.”The Jets responded by filing tampering charges against the Patriots, but New England will not be punished by the NFL, sources confirmed to ESPN. The New York Daily News was first to report the fine Tuesday. Revis spent his first six seasons with the Jets but was traded to the Buccaneersbefore the 2013 season. The six-time Pro Bowler helped the Patriots win the Super Bowl last season before signing his blockbuster deal with the Jets.

Looks like Mike Kensil is working his back channels again. I mean 100K for blatantly cheating and tampering? No draft picks? Listen I don’t want to sound like a broken record with this shit, but if this was the Patriots we’d lose at least 3 draft picks and they’d be interrupting the Baltimore riots on CNN to break the news. But since it’s the lowly Jets and the Pats were the victims nobody cares. Oh well. I guess if being King were easy everybody would do it.

PS –  I wonder if KFC still thinks it was immature of the Pats to file tampering charges?
