TIME- Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan seems to be practicing her Arabic recently. On Monday, she tweeted habibi, the ubiquitous Arabic term of endearment that can translate into everything from lover to beloved. However, in a hilarious cultural gaffe, that tweet linked to an image on her Instagram feed which said “You’re beautiful” in English — and what nonspeakers would have assumed was the Arabic translation. But the Arabic phrase did not read “You’re beautiful.” Instead, it said, “You’re a donkey.” Lohan deleted the image from Instagram shortly thereafter, but not before social media was abuzz with the predictable mirth.

When all else fails in the world.  When everything around everybody is constantly turning to shit.  When anything and everything seems to be lost.  We can always depend on girls posting stupid, pointless, empty inspirational quotes on social media.  It’s in their DNA and I love them for it.  I really do.  It’s the only reason I still have a Facebook.  Most people delete Facebook because it’s all stupid comments from your aunts and uncles and inspirational quotes from girls. That’s exactly why I keep it.  I love it.  I especially love them for it when what they post is supposed to say, “You’re beautiful” but the Arabic symbol next to it actually translates to, “You are a donkey.”  That’s a win for all of us (minus Lindsay Lohan).  Lindsay might want to think abut A) getting someone to run all of her social media accounts because she sucks at it or B) deleting them all together.  The only time Lohan is ever in the news is because she posted a CLEARLY photoshopped picture or she’s telling people “You are a donkey.”  Keep doing you though, girl.

PS- Random note about social media: I saw a tweet or something about it that couldn’t have been more true.  It was something like, “It’s never the successful people who are posting inspirational quotes.”  And it’s 1000% accurate.  There’s people I know who are 26, have 4 kids, a long rap sheet and they’re the ones posting shit like “Be Great, Always Be Great, Strive To Be Great, I am Great” or whatever.  Facebook is a magical place.
