Dana White Says Masvidal/Usman Is Trending "Higher Than A Conor McGregor Fight"

You know, maybe I shouldn't be THAT surprised by this proclamation, being Jorge "Gamebred" Masvidal's sudden return to the octagon while the UFC is the only game in town is pretty much the greatest thing Uncle Dana could ask for right now....but still, when Dana said Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov - the biggest mixed martial arts pay-per-view in history - is the only event he's seen comparable to this one, I kinda gasped.

Sure, I guess the haters will say he's just blowing smoke, or that you could say anything in the "projections" stage to sell a fight, but I've really felt the abundance of intrigue on this one personally, making me inclined to believe him!

I've been getting texts from friends and coworkers who don't ordinarily watch the UFC left and right asking about this main event, my mentions have been BLOWING UP with Stoolies asking for my picks (coming tomorrow, ya savages!), I can't go 2 seconds without seeing a Fight Island commercial on TV....and that's all come in the past six days - which proves Masvidal right here, in my eyes....

No disrespect to anybody else on this card - I'm as excited for Alexander Volkanovski (c) vs Max Holloway and Petr Yan vs Jose Aldo as anybody - but there's just no denying that tomorrow night revolves around Street Jesus. It's one of the great stories we've ever seen leading into a fight. From accepting the fight on 6 days notice, to flying across the world to make it happen, to successfully shredding the 22lbs in that time to make the bout championship official - I'd say one Buddha Ben is correct in declaring Masvidal a winner already....

….but we all know "Gamebred" needs that cherry on top to leave Fight Island truly happy tomorrow night, and that cherry on top is UFC Gold around his waist. God, I can't fucking wait.

P.S. I am HIGHLY anticipating a couple Conor McGregor tweets tomorrow night. I don't think he enjoys not being the center of attention when it comes to the UFC (it's his competitive/jealous nature), and his name has come up more than once this week. We're overdue. Win or lose, he'll say something about Masvidal. Set your watches to it.

P.P.S. Shoutout to me for writing this blog while also trending higher than a Conor McGregor PPV. Buy a hoodie!
