Wake Up With Cal Ripken Jr's Last Career Home Run
Fitting that Cal's last bomb came at home, the park that Cal built, and it was against the Yankees in front of a packed crowd. Cal never put up huge home run numbers, but obviously held on long enough to clobber 431 dongs in his record setting career. I love the man in the crowd catching the ball and then hugging the guy he was with for like 45 seconds. He knew he had a special ball there. And the loser in the front row wearing the Yankee polo looking like he saw a ghost, that guy had seen some shit. Cal used the 485th stance of his career to hit this homer, no violin stance needed. I was curious on who he hit the most homers against, thinking it had to be New York or Boston just because of divisional play. Nope, he hit the most homers in his career against the Angels with 38. I know they're a relatively new franchise, but reading that Cal only hit 5 bombs against Tampa blew my mind. His home run numbers vs different teams are strange, it goes Angels with 38, Royals with 37, Oakland with 36, Detroit with 35, and then the Yankees with 33. Weird.
Enjoy your weekend, friends.
