Eagles TE Dallas Goedert Taken To Hospital After Getting Sucker Punched At A Restaurant In South Dakota

NJ.com - Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert was uninjured following an altercation at a South Dakota restaurant on Saturday, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media.  Goedert was out with family at dinner when he was allegedly sucker-punched unprovoked. He was taken to a hospital as a precaution, and he is unharmed following the incident, the source said.  NJ Advance Media reached out to the Eagles, who said they are aware of the situation but declined to comment.  According to the Mitchell Republic, the incident occurred at the Zoo Bar in Aberdeen, South Dakota, early Saturday around 1 a.m. Police were called to the scene because of reports that “people [were] busting glasses and have busted heads.”

First things first, good to hear Dallas is alright.  However, something here kinda stinks if you think about the situation. Who sucker punches a 6'5, 256 pounded jacked up professional athlete in the middle of a crowded restaurant?  Who has a family dinner at 1am? Is that how shit goes down on the regular in South Dakota?  Cheap shots ahoy and abiding by meal times only seen in European Spanish culture? There probably is more to the story here, but like I said, good to hear Dallas is alright. And good for the sucker puncher his teammates have never stepped foot in South Dakota...
