Snowboarder Gets Smacked In The Head By ChairLift While Preoccupied With His Selfie Stick

He deserved it.  No, I don’t know anything about this guy.  He could be the greatest guy in the world.  Works hard, donates money to charity, volunteers at the local soup kitchen, makes his own beef jerky, no criminal record, etc.  But he fucking deserved almost getting decapitated by that chairlift.  Anybody using a selfie stick deserves any injury that comes their way.  They do.  Maybe next time he’ll think twice before filming himself boarding down a hill.  Whoa!  Nobody’s ever done that!  Filmed themselves going down the mountain on a board?!  Genius.

This is a little off topic but it came to me yesterday as I was watching a guy commute to work on his bike and streaming it on meerkat.  We, and by that I mean everybody in the world, straight up aren’t interesting enough to be able to broadcast every action of every day.  We just aren’t.  That dude commuting on his bike yesterday was boring as shit but meerkat gave him an outlet so he did it anyway.  The system is completely fucked.  There used to be a checks and balances when it came to who could be on TV/present their ideas to a larger audience using a camera.  Now?  Any Tom, Dick or Harry with an iPhone can broadcast themselves brushing their teeth simply because it’s possible.  And with our inflated egos thanks to the social media generation where everything is about ME ME ME people have a fake sense of entitlement and believe that what they do is interesting.  When the fact of the matter is that none of us are interesting.  None of us.  We’re all just meat drones who walk around and do the same shit day in and day out.

Happy Friday!
