Mike Gundy's Plan For Getting Players Back On Campus? If You Die, You Die....His Employees (Players) Need To Get Back To Work

As of March 29th, all Big 12 sports were suspended until at least May 31st. You know who that is an issue for? Mike Gundy. Wanna know why? Because he's got a football team he needs to get ready for a 9-3 season. 

On a conference call today, Mike Gundy started off by saying that he is indeed taking Coronavirus serious:

SOURCE-Is Gundy oblivious to the fact that the coronavirus is killing people? No, he's not. He talks about his daily routine of waking up, not being able to go back to sleep, and spending a decent amount of time watching the news and analyzing where he as a football coach and the program he guides at Oklahoma State fit in the entire scenario. He even mentioned he had found a news source, One American News, that is more objective news and less opinion and drama.

One American News being the news channel of choice in the Gundy household is incredibly on-brand. 

He has a target date of May 1, which could happen, with regard to getting his staff back in the office, but won't happen for his players unless the Big 12 Conference and other leagues come off the May 31 date they have set right now for readjustment to team functions and practices.

"In my opinion, we need to bring our players back. They are 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22-years old and they are healthy and they have the ability to fight this virus off. If that is true, then we sequester them, and continue because we need to run money through the state of Oklahoma."

As Bud Elliot put it on Twitter, the proper translation for this quote is that Mike Gundy needs his players employees back on campus as soon as possible. If they die? They die. 

Let this be a good reminder to all the college football coaches out there: nobody really cares about your scientific thoughts on the coronavirus. Just say we hope to get back to practice as soon as possible to make sure this season can go as smoothly as it can.
