Watch David Blaine Do a FaceTime Magic Trick With Mike Tyson
I love magic tricks. Not that that's unusual or anything, but I've always loved a good magician. Nothing gets a crowd of people going better than some well-done magic.
I have no idea how all that business is done, but it's usually some sort of slight of hand or misdirection to get your attention away from what is actually happening. And that's easy to do when you're a trained professional and you have the people right in front of you to be able to direct their attention where you want it to go and do what you need to do to perform the trick.
But this? How the hell does this happen?
All in all, this is a pretty simple trick, but it's on a FaceTime call. What in the world could David Blaine have done to pull this off? If I saw this trick done with Mike Tyson in person, it would have been fine. But the fact it's done with two separate decks of cards in two remote locations is ridiculous.
So now I'm going to spend the rest of the day trying to learn how this trick is done. I'm not one of the people that thinks it makes it better to keep the illusion alive or whatever. I want to know how the hell you do that.
And then you throw Tyson's reaction at the end and it makes this the perfect quarantine magic trick video. I'm much more easily entertained now than I was a month ago.
FaceTime magic is cool, but please bring back sports.
