Allow Me Reintroduce You To Tom Brady's Newest Weapon (Allegedly)
In the words of Jay-Z, this is a public service announcement: Tom Brady is about to have some offensive WEAPONS.
What a day huh? The fact that we have literally zero (0) live sports going on and the fact that the sports world is still poppin' is a testament to how bad we need sports - or really just ANYTHING to divert our attention - right now.
Before you roll your eyes, this isn't another "Tom Brady left New England" blog. That's been covered by the Boston guys who have lived and breathed T12 their entire lives. I will say, I think its WILD that we are living in a world where the GOAT is going to be wearing a different jersey. Love it or hate it, love the Pats or hate the Pats... the sports world just changed forever.
Sidenote: Miss me with the "LOL YOU'RE NOT FROM BOSTON" slant. As HQ's newest content machine Joey said about his brand new love for LSU: "I think it’s totally fair because, like I said, I can’t stand people who get worked up about 'Bandwagon fans'”.
Ya, I grew up in Texas loving college football and I fell in love with Boston for a gazillion reasons. (PS - That blog is still my favorite thing I've ever written. Always remember, you matter. That rings true more than ever right now in these times.)
Anyway, this blog is about Tom Brady's presumed newest weapon in Tampa Bay: Fightin' Texas Aggie Mike Evans. If you're a Bucs fan, things are about to get really fun for you.
Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington with the news? I'm sold. Despite Dave Portnoy saying Jeff Darlington is a nobody, he's been NAILS following the TB12 stuff.
And what does that mean for the sake of this blog? We are about to see Tom Brady and Mike Evans (along with a very stacked offense) together.
Now, for those of you that don't know this fun fact because you don't pay attention to college football (shame on you), Mike played for Texas A&M and played a big part in helping Johnny Manziel with the Heisman in 2012. He was a beast in the maroon and white.
And I mean a MONSTER. Mike was actually the first ever player that I got to interview for TV on the sidelines after a game, so his career has always been something I pay close attention to. (I'd try to find the video, but I'm going to assume said TV network would lose their shit if I put their mic flag up on Barstool Sports.)
The Johnny/Mike connection was truly something to witness. Must watch TV. Yes, I know A&M never "won anything" and hasn't in a long time but let us have Ws where we can.
Seeing a player who wore your school's colors succeed at the next level will never get old. I don't care who you are.
Yes, you read that correctly. He played a total of two seasons and racked up 2500 yards. That's insane.
And it didn't stop in college. Obviously.
Yes, you read that correctly: part 2. Mike has had 1000+ yd seasons every. single. year. since he entered the league. That's what we at Barstool sports like to call 'bananas'. He's one of the top 5 deep threats in the NFL right now and his numbers prove why.

In case you forgot, the QBs that have been throwing balls to Mike since he got drafted in 2014 are as follows:
- Josh McCown
- Mike Glennon
- Jameis Winston
- Ryan Fitzpatrick
Zero shade here, but none of those guys are Tom Brady. Not even close. I understand there'll be a debate on if Tom is able to throw a deep ball, etc etc. But you and I both know that Mike Evans is probably chomping at the bit to get on the field right now.
His NFL highlight reels are really something. If you want to go down a worm hole, YouTube has you covered. Remember that day he had 190 yards and 3 TDs vs the Giants? Lol.
So… it looks like Brady finally got those weapons he's reportedly been asking for.
Imagine a 42-year-old Tom Brady with something massive to prove lining up with Mike Evans AND Chris Godwin as his top targets??? While every Patriot or Brady fan continues to cry, I bet Steven Cheah is losing his shit right now. And he should be. I'd imagine he's going to have some fun watching football this year… assuming we all actually get to see football this year.
Once an Aggie, always an Aggie. Gig 'em, #13. Gig 'em.
