We're Getting A Documentary THIS MONTH About The FBI/NCAA Investigation With Never Before Heard Wiretapped Calls From Head Coaches

[Yahoo] - The nearly two-hour film from director Pat Kondelis’ Bat Bridge Entertainment explains the myriad reasons the case went sideways at times, but part of the limited impact was Dawkins’ refusal to cooperate with authorities and instead take two separate cases to trial. In the end he was convicted on both and sentenced to three months for fraud and one year and one day for bribery. He’s currently out on appeal.

It also contains a number of never-before-heard audio recordings of FBI-intercepted phone calls between Dawkins and LSU coach Will Wade and Arizona’s Miller.

Oh HELL YEAH. Desperate times call for desperate measures and at this point I'll take anything sports related. Do I think the whole investigation is a crock of shit? Yep. I hate it. Just let these kids profit off of the free market like I've said 1,000 times and this is hardly a story. Again, schools pay with scholarships and that's fine. But don't put a cap on what these guys can make for name, image and likeness. Who cares?

But I'm going to watch the hell out of this documentary. What I do want to know is will these audio recordings have any impact on these coaches. I'd assume the NCAA had already heard these? If not, imagine if someone like Will Wade or Sean Miller lost their job because of a damn HBO documentary. You'd have to make a documentary about the documentary at that point.

The documentary does focus a bit on Dawkins background and him growing up. I honestly don't really care about that, but for a 2 hour documentary, I'm all in. I'm all in on just this convo between Dawkins and Sean Miller about Will Wade:

Dawkins: “And Will Wade — I told Book, I said, ‘Will Wade is like driving up the price of [players]. Cause he’s not even doing like real numbers.’ ”

Miller: “I tell you what, ‘I’ll give him credit. He’s got a big set of balls on him.’ ”

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we're just trying to get by day by day until we have sports again. Give me all the documentaries. Give me all the stories. Even if it's a topic that pisses me off like this investigation and how people somehow think this only happens in college hoops, we're all going to watch.
