Charles Oakley's Civil Lawsuit Against James Dolan And Madison Square Garden Has Been Dismissed, Followed By A Statement From MSG Hoping For Peace

So after more than three years, which I cannot believe it has been that long since that fateful night, this whole Oakley vs. Dolan feud appears to be over in the court system. I think. To be honest, I don't know if this can somehow bubble up again in some other district like the NFL vs. (Insert Player That Was Suspended Without Enough Proof Here). But I'm hoping this is the last time I hear about Charles Oakley taking on Madison Square Garden because just typing two of my favorite things in life facing off against each other shreds my soul apart. I would have a much easier time with something like Charles Oakley vs. James Dolan since it's pretty much my favorite human ever taking on my least favorite human ever.

Nonetheless, the lawsuits appear to be #done, with Madison Square Garden putting out a statement that they want to bury the hatchet.

Now I've been a Knicks fan long enough to know how insincere a statement from The House That Dolan Is Ruining may sound. But I'm hoping Steve Stoute can take a moment from rebranding the Knicks from total clownshoe operation to absolute total clownshoe operation by actually improving their image by reaching out to Oak with Leon Rose whenever he officially gets hired and maybe fixing this relationship because seeing Charles Oakley support the Nets kills me a little inside every time I see it. This would almost certainly require James Dolan to take the silver spoon he was born with out of his mouth long enough to swallow his pride and make things right by sharing a peace pipe with Oak, which I have almost no faith in actually happening.

But the eternal optimist in me that keeps me coming back for more abuse with this nightmare franchise would like to believe Dolan will apologize to put out one of the flames of the franchise tire fire he is responsible for and Oakley will accept his apology for the good of the fans as well as Oakley getting front row seats at any MSG event for the rest of his life. And if Dolan wants to keep acting like an ass to one of the greatest Knicks ever, the streets in front of Madison Square Garden are ripe for another riot.
