The Ultimate Long Con: Connecticut Man Gets Hired At Gas Station, Promptly Robs Them Of $17,000 Worth Of Cigarettes And Lotto Tickets

Source - A Connecticut gas station employee allegedly stole more than $17,000 from his boss on his first day of work, police said Wednesday.

The sticky-fingered attendant made off with 89 boxes of cigarettes, lottery tickets and cash totaling $17,183 during his first solo overnight shift last week at the Go on Gas in Hamden, cops said.

Police released a surveillance photo of the bald, bearded suspect in the store in the hopes of identifying him. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Jay Bunnell of the Hamden Police Department Patrol Division at (203) 230-4030.

I have an announcement to make: I would like to officially nominate this man into the white trash hall of fame. Yeah, he's not actually "white", per say, but this crime is right up there with some of the all-time greats. The only thing that would've made it better is if he pulled it off in a Fox Racing T-shirt with a rat tail.

Look at this gem:

Standing there...plotting...planning...waiting for the perfect moment to pull off his big heist. And he did it. Oh, and if you think they're going to just pull his info and arrest him think again. The store owner didn't even know his name and since they're operating in the year 1974, they never will.

He also grabbed his employee folder, containing his personal information, authorities said. “The store owner does not know the new employee’s name,” cops said.

Genius. I hope every one of those lottery tickets he stole is a winner. Congrats to whoever this guy is, sometimes the long con really does pay off.
