Getcha Photoshops Ready! The Knicks Have Reportedly Inquired About Trading For D'Angelo Russell

SNY- The Knicks have registered interest with Golden State about trading for D'Angelo Russell, league sources confirm. It's unclear how far along talks have gone, but Bobby Portis is one name that came up in the conversations, per SNY sources. Per SNY sources, Frank Ntilikina's name has also come up in conversations between the Knicks and Warriors around Russell.

I know that I swore off getting excited about rumors of star players ending up with the Knicks after this summer's free agency class ripped out my soul. But after watching the Knicks become as irrelevant as I have seen in all my years as a fan without any glimpse of hope outside of Mitchell Robinson highlights in between his fouls and RJ Barrett's occasional moments before he got hurt, I decided I want to feel something again no matter what type of pain it causes me along the way and Photoshops make me feel good. Do you have a fucking problem with that? I know these sound like the ramblings of a lunatic junkie, but that's why Reags and I have weekly Knicks Therapy sessions on his podcast.

Which is why I am searching for every D'Angelo Russell Photoshop on Twitter and figuratively snorting them like I'm on a bender in South Beach. The Knicks haven't had a legitimate playmaker that could play the point since the greatest Chinese basketball player from Harvard turned the entire sports world upside down for a few weeks of Linsanity before disappearing in plain sight and a Vaseline eating maniac that called himself Starbury  was at MSG. To make matters worse, Ja Morant is now pulling magic tricks illusions out of his ass like Gob Bluth.

So yeah, I am going to pump 100 CCs of Photoshop hype into my veins and have myself a nice little dope drem of D'Angelo Russell forming a Big Lefty Three with RJ Barrett and Julius Randle since an all lefty lineup could be the next NBA revolution and because I have nothing else to dream about outside of a lottery pick that will probably sink like a stone because of some asshole ping pong ball. I know the Knicks could have tried to sign D'Angelo over the summer. But him choosing to sign for more money and years with the Nets knowing he'd then get shipped to the fucking Warriors is actually a big checkmark for him in the Decision Making box. Even D'Angelo snitching on Swaggy P is a good thing because it saved Swaggy and Iggy Azalea from what would have clearly been a doomed marriage from the jump. Can you imagine the amount of money that would have been wasted on the venue, dress, DJ, and gifts? So in a weird way, that makes D a good r teammate and an even better person than we give him credit for. Plus I lowkey love D'Angelo being in Revenge Mode for every game against the Nets.

Some people around Russell said over the summer that he was open to the possibility of signing with New York because he liked the city and he was intrigued by the idea of competing so closely with the Nets -- the team that decided to sign Kyrie Irving instead of bringing him back.

I'd hate to see Frank get shipped out to Golden State since the Warriors are the exact kind of team that will know how to unlock his potential. But there's a chance that's going to happen regardless of where he goes once he escapes MSG and I'd rather have it be to a team in the West. Plus you cannot discount how good it will be for the psyche of Knicks fans that the Ntilikina Civil War will finally be over and Bobby Portis can be remembered as the guy with the crazy Kurt Thomas eyes that gave us the Bobby Portis Revenge Game and nothing else.

Then again, this is the Knicks we are talking about, which means Bob Myers will reap Steve Mills of all of their future assets for a guy that was just a free agent before completely bungling this entire Marcus Morris situation that any person with a brain knows should end with a trade before exploring an extension this summer when he's a FREE AGENT.
