Remember When Bryant Gumbel Said Barstool Wasn't Worth $100 Million?
So obviously everyone has heard the great news this morning that our new partners at Penn National Gaming have acquired a minority stake in Barstool Sports. We're taking this thing to the moon and this is another great step in that direction. It's a great day to be aboard the rocket ship.
That is, unless you're Bryant Gumbel from HBO's Real Sports, who just six months ago scoffed at the idea that Barstool was worth $100 million.
"By who?"
Well, by the people who just acquired a minority stake for $163 million, putting the total value of the company at $450 million, Bryant. Although I guess we should give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe his incredulousness came from the fact that $100 million was actually a shockingly low number.
I bet he and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were shaking their fists at the sky when they woke up this morning. The haters and losers are so mad. You absolutely hate to see it.
Either way, it's a great day to be a part of Barstool Sports.
