Enjoy This Slightly Confused Coronavirus PSA From 49ers Defensive End Nick Bosa

Media Day is the circus that really kicks off Super Bowl week each year & it's like a reverse merry-go-round where the players & coaches are stationary & reporters circle around them, generally asking them all the same questions in slightly different ways...

"Are you excited for the big game?"

"Do you think your team is ready?"

"How does it feel to be here?"

Needless to say, 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa was a tad thrown off when football questions were pushed aside for something slightly more pressing... 

In the beginning of the clip you can hear a reporter asking him about the Coronavirus & after a brief pause he replies, 

"Yeah, yeah, yeah… I've heard about that." 

Then you can hear her asking him to send a message along the lines of "stay strong, keep fighting" to the people in affected areas. After a moment of deep pondering he says,

Um… To all my Chinese friends out there? Um… Wash your hands. And… stay clean. Because there's a virus going around. And uh… ::stares into space for a second:: Just hang in there. Enjoy… enjoy the Super Bowl. 

I don't blame the reporter for making the request (however strange & off topic) because I too have been desperate to find a newsworthy nugget in a sea of the same stories. And I can't fault Bosa for being thrown off.. His answer was hilarious to me because he's clearly got other things on his mind & was at a total loss for what to say, but hey, nice of him to give it a whirl. 

Can't help but wonder what these two oldies would have asked, had they gotten the chance…
