Jimmy Kimmel Delivered An Emotional Opening Monologue Before Doing An Hour-Long Show Honoring Kobe Bryant Without A Studio Audience

I'm pretty sure anybody associated with comedy and entertainment yesterday could feel that it was just not a day for jokes and laughs. Jimmy Kimmel is obviously in the Big Leagues of comedy and knows how to handle emotional moments like this better than most, which is why he chose to forego a typical show with a studio audience to honor a friend, a hero, and a 15-time guest on his show with a wonderful yet somber celebration of Kobe's times on the show, including the clip of Kobe talking about his daughter Gianna that hurts every single time I watch it.

Before finishing things off with a great tribute to Kobe Bean.

Everything will continue to get easier to handle as time progresses and laughter is going to be a big part of making things better for those of us that were just bystanders to Kobe Bryant's career and life. But for the people that lost a loved one in that crash, the healing process is going to be exponentially tougher.
