Martin Frk Might Need A License To Carry His Hockey Stick After Firing Off A 109.2 MPH Clapper At The AHL Skills Competition

When you think about some of the most lethal clap bombs of all time, you think of guys like Zdeno Chara. You think of Shea Weber. You think of Al MacInnis and Al Iafrate. You've probably never once thought about Martin Frk, but here comes this absolute animal clocking in at 109.2 mph at the AHL All Star Skills Competition.

Imagine being a goalie in the AHL. You're taking buses to games and all you can hope for is that someone ahead of you on the depth chart starts to suck so you can get your chance. Then next thing you know, you've got a game against the Ontario Reign coming up on the schedule, and now it's your job to stand in the way of Martin Frk firing a 6 oz. rubber projectile at your dome at 109.2 miles per hour. That would probably be the best time to dust off that resume, hang up the pads and start to make the transition over to coaching.

Oh and by the way, Frk had 3 goals in 4 NHL games this year with the Kings. Between that and now being the owner of the heaviest clapper in North America, they might want to bring him back up for some trade bait at the deadline. Just in case anyone is looking to add a Fulton Reed for the playoffs.

Sidenote: This has been a devastating 24 hours for so many people. I totally understand that a slap shot at the AHL Skill Competition is the furthest thing from what's important in the news today, but just needed a quick little return to normalcy.
