Oh The Horror: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Will No Longer Use The 'His And Her Royal Highness' Titles
Complex- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will no longer use the titles “His and Her Royal Highness,” CNN reports. “Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family,” Queen Elizabeth II said in an official statement. Harry and Meghan will also repay the British taxpayers $3 million. “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family,” the Queen added. “I recognize the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.”
The couple said that they will “work to become financially independent,” from the Royal Fanily and will continue to “fully support Her Majesty the Queen.” As part of this transition, the couple will no longer spend the majority of their time in the United Kingdom. The news comes shortly after Meghan and Harry spent their Christmas on Vancouver Island with their 8-month-old son Archie instead with the rest of the Royal Family.
Annnnnnnnd I’m back to fully hating the Royals and everything they do. It was fun there for awhile when the news first broke of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle throwing up the deuces and stepping away from that pointless family but now we’re back to this shit being so goddamn stupid. Why? Because the news today is that Harry and Meghan will no longer use the titles His and Her Royal Highness like anybody gives a single fuck. Oh so they will no longer be using the titles that are regularly used in Disney movies about princes and princesses? Cool. Again, this story was interesting to me when the Queen was pissed about what was happening and it was chaos but now that we’re talking about what titles mere mortals like Harry and Meghan will be using going forward? In the words of the great Logan Roy, fuck off.
I will say, I’m on Harry and Meghan’s side of this whole thing, I think stepping away from the publicly-funded make believe world of the Royals is the right move, but I’d be lying if I said this thing doesn’t have the chance to be a full on disaster for them. What are they gonna do for work? I’m sure they’re still sucking on some sort of public tit but what are they gonna do with their lives on a day-to-day basis? Is Harry gonna become a postman? A bus boy? I mean we already saw how it went when Harry tried to pitch Bob Iger on Meghan being a voiceover actress
BRUTAL. So brutal that I couldn’t bring myself to watch the clip again. I simply pulled the link from YouTube, threw it in the blog and kept it moving. It’s too painful to watch more than once.
The best move the newly-free couple could make is to do a reality show. That’s a no brainer. A reality show where Harry and Meghan live out in the Canadian wilderness would be ratings gold. And I know the whole point of stepping away is to get out of the public spotlight but we’ll see how long that way of thinking lasts when their lives are a complete borefest and they spend every waking minute staring at each other in silence.
