Leonardo DiCaprio has stepped up in a big way to help Australia recover from the wildfires that are ravaging the country.

The Earth Alliance, an environmental organization that DiCaprio, 45, oversees, launched the Australia Wildfire Fund to help raise money and donated $3 million to relief efforts, the “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood’ star announced on Instagram Thursday.

The generous donation, provided by DiCaprio and his co-chairs, Laurene Powell Jobs and Brian Sheth, was a “commitment to assist critical firefighting efforts in New South Wales, aid local communities most affected by the wildfires, enable wildlife rescue and recovery, and support the long term restoration of unique ecosystem.”

Well that's just incredible. Quick 3 mill out of the bank straight to Australian relief efforts. You knew LDC would be a driving force in the relief efforts for the fires, but 3 million is just a ton of money. I'm sure people will find a way to criticize this because he's worth over $250 million, but fuck that noise. $3 million will go a long way here.

Also in Leo's insta post were these numbers that seem to get worse and worse by the day. It's horrifying. Over a billion animals dead is the saddest thing in the world.

I'll leave you with Leo's Oscar speech where instead of talking about finally winning best actor he talked about saving the world. He can do no wrong. Saving a human life one day, saving the whole planet the next.
