Wake Up With Some Sweet Ass Animals That Went Extinct At The End Of The Ice Age

I did a wake up about the video above in October. There’s evidence that an big ole asteroid came down, hit North America 12,000 years ago, and changed the planet forever. No more ice age. Rising sea levels. And…North America lost a shit ton of sweet animals. Here is a list of them that could’ve been roaming around

Glyptodon

Kind of like a fat ass armadillo. Thing weighed a full ton. Just roamed around Texas and Mexico snacking on plants and crushing skulls with that spiked tail.

Short-faced bear

A grizzly Bear weighs about 600 pounds. A short face bear weighed around 2000. That’s a big fucking bear. So big that it would have to eat 35lbs of meat per day. Scientists have found their fossils and bones from everywhere to Alaska to Mississippi. And even though they were fucking enormous the speculation is that they could run 40mph. Meaning no matter what they’d fuck everything up.

Dire wolf

Not just a fictional best friend for Jon Snow. A real animal weighing in at 15olbs. Picture a great dane. Now…that’s a wolf that wants to eat you. Not great

Giant Beaver

A beaver with a two foot long tail, the head the size of a black bear, and weighing over 150lbs. A modern beaver weighs between 25 and 40lbs. Supposedly made such huge dams that it permanently altered the bedrock around New York City

Mastadon

A little hairy baby elephant looking thing. Not to be confused with a Wooly Mammouth. They’re cousins, but the mastadon was a little shorter and had longer straighter tusks than the Mammouth

Caverne du Pont d'Arc à Vallon Pont d'Arc en Ardèche

There’s a Russian scientist trying to bring back the wooly mammouth to combat climate change. Not sure how that works, but I am here for it.

North America used to have the best animals on the planet. Giant gound sloths, american cheetahs, fury elephants, and bears that could eat your whole family as a snack. One little asteroid and some climate change and all we were left with was bison…who are admittedly also sweet. Just don’t have the range that Africa has. Wrong place, wrong time for that asteroid to hit. RIP to all these megafaunas.
