Nope, That's Not How A Plane Is Supposed To Approach A Landing

OOF. No joke that right there is my biggest nightmare when flying. I used to be TERRIFIED of every aspect of flying but have since gotten much much more comfortable with it, except the landing part. Taking off? No problem. Once we’re airborne and cruising at 30,000 feet? Easy peasy. But the landing continues to terrify me to this day. I always have this thought in my head that we’re going to touch down, abruptly turn sideways and start to barrel roll down the runway. Every. Single. Time. I’ve had nightmares of that exact scenario happening. Like I said, every other part of the flying experience is no problem, until we start approaching the ground. I get sweaty palms just thinking about it and I’m nowhere near an airport.

So yeah, I would’ve cried and shit my pants and fainted all at the same time had I been on the flight in the video above. That bad boy was full on sideways and RIPE for my nightmare to come true. If I were on that plane I would’ve voted that we stay in the air for as long as it took for the wind to die down. It’d be an unpopular vote for sure but it might be the best option given that the plane landed at basically a 90 degree angle. Big time shout out to the those pilots, though. They should get a bigger heroes welcome than Sully in my opinion.
