No, not quite. Because this is the action of a man who is very much a capitalist. Doing exactly what Adam Silver is instructing him to do. He’s falling on the sword on behalf of the entire League’s best interest: bending over and allowing China to have their way with them in exchange for hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. I love the NBA but its days of acting high and mighty are very much over. Which is fine, I hope guys still speak out about issues that hit close to home. That shouldn’t have to change just because they’re allowing China to roll over them now. However, let’s just call a spade a spade here. The NBA is TERRIFIED of China and LeBron’s doing what he can to try and salvage that relationship while it’s still salvageable. The second GMs started crunching numbers and looking at projected salary caps WITHOUT China’s hundreds of millions of dollars everyone learned the company line. And that line is to bash Daryl Morey and praise China.

The weirdest part about this statement is LeBron seemingly threatening Daryl Morey?? What do you mean people could have been harmed? Sure, we all get the financial loss at hand. That’s been reported ad nauseam. But physical? SPIRITUAL HARM LEBRON?? The hell does that even mean?
