This Sounds Exactly Like Something That Someone Who Wants To Trade Jalen Ramsey Would Say

Jacksonville Jaguars v Denver Broncos

When you’ve been around the biz for long enough, you know that anybody who is in any sort of position of power is a lying, conniving, son of a bitch. Anything that leaves their mouth is just riddled with bullshit. They say one thing and then do the complete opposite. It’s not any fault of their own. You have to be a at least somewhat of a psychopath to get to be in that position in the first place. Spoiler Alert: really great people who are unwavering in their honesty and integrity usually don’t make it to the top.

Now I’m sure that by all means, Shad Khan is probably a good guy. I’m sure he’s a devoted husband, a loving father, and an all around splendid person to be around. But he’s also worth over $6 BILLION so I’m never going to trust a single word that man says. Because you don’t get billions with a “B” without some fuckery being afoot. So when Shad Khan says that he has no plans on trading Jalen Ramsey…

AP – Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan has no plan to trade disgruntled cornerback Jalen Ramsey…

…“Obviously, football is a team sport and I’m sensitive to what individual insight or viewpoint or requests (there) might be,” Khan said. “But we have to do the right thing for the team. We value the values Jalen adds to us, to the Jaguars. I think we value him highly. We’re still looking at what is the right thing for the Jaguars, and I think right now the best thing is to have him be part of the team.”

Well that sounds exactly like something that somebody who is actively trying to rake in a massive ransom for Jalen Ramsey would say. The Eagles reportedly spent all weekend trying to work out a trade for Ramsey. My guess is that none of the trade packages involving draft picks blew the doors off of Shad Khan because he knows that if Jalen Ramsey goes to Philly, the 1st round pick he’ll be getting back will be 32nd overall. So they spend all weekend trying to get a trade done and now all of a sudden he comes out and says that he has no plans to trade Jalen Ramsey? Even though they were discussing trades all weekend long with Philly?

That’s just a bat signal for teams to get in their best and final offers. And credit to Shad Khan for choosing his words carefully there. He didn’t say that they’re definitely not going to trade Jalen Ramsey. He just said that he doesn’t have any plans to trade him. He said that “right now” the best thing is to have him be a part of the team. That opens up the door to a trade immediately without coming off as a total liar. It’s actually a pretty impressive bluff that puts him in a win-win situation regardless of how this all ends. But I think we all know that this still ends with Jalen Ramsey wearing Midnight Green and leading the Philadelphia Eagles to their 2nd Super Bowl.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
