Kaapo Kakko Will Win The Calder Memorial Trophy This Season

Kaapo Kakko missed the first two games of the Traverse City Prospects Tournament due to an illness, but then he comes back today and well…didn't disappoint. Not only did he post three assists, but he had the game winning goal in overtime. Call it a flu game or whatever you want, Kakko is here and ready to dominate. #45 is already producing straight hockey porn in his first game wearing the blueshirt sweater. By the way, I LOVE the number 45 for Kakko. For some reason it just feels right.

Look at him working in the office behind the net. Credit Newell for putting it away, but my god Kaapo can really work the puck. Then he feeds Vitali Kravstov on the power play for a beautiful one timer, another one of his three assists on the day. Not only is "The Finnisher" Kaapo Kakko, bigger, faster, and stronger than the rookie opposition, he will receive top minutes on a New York Rangers team that is going to surprise A LOT of people. The Rangers got an absolute gem with the #2 overall selection. It's about damn time.

What. a. quote. Kakko is a man of VERY few words (he's still learning English), but he never fails to make everyone smile and have high hopes for the future. Opening night cannot come soon enough. Kaapo Kakko walking home at the NHL Awards with the Calder Memorial Trophy is the lock of the century. October 3rd, Madison Square Garden will be ROCKING and #45 will shine under the bright lights. Let's Go Rangers.
