It's Pretty Damn Obvious Dak Prescott Plans To Secure That Bag ASAP

PSA: Apparently the Dallas Cowboys are a passing team now despite the fact they just paid their running back $90 million dollars.

I know it’s the New York Giants. I know they stink out loud. But the 2019 squad down in Texas made a damn statement today. The new offense under Kellen Moore absolutely COOKED. Jason Witten jumped right back into the mix, Zeke got in the end zone after all the drama, seven different receivers caught passes (two of them having 100+ yards), the ‘Boys scored on 5 straight drives. So on and so forth.

Oh ya in case you missed it, the big story of the night was Dak fucking Prescott who just casually set the Cowboys passing record in an opener.

He had 400+ (FOUR HUNDRED!!) passing yards and a 158.2 passer rating. This is the same guy that averaged 242 ypg last season. This is the same guy that people claim can’t throw a football. This is the same guy who didn’t get his contract extension before the first game in his contract year and clearly is hell bent on proving he deserves the big bucks.

It’s obviously a tricky situation and I’m sure Dak’s team is demanding a lot. Steven Jones said before the game that both sides want to get it right and they know he’s the QB of the Cowboys future. But if they didn’t want to pay him the full bag, #4 definitely went out and made that WAYYY more difficult for the Jones family today.

Do I think he should be one of the highest paid QB in the league? No, not YET. Can I really 1000% make that argument after the day he had today? Also no. Do I think Jerry is going to have to pay the man his money? Yes. And he will do it. It’s Jerry Jones. Do I think the front office probably wishes they had agreed on a contract extension before this game? Also yes.

He was electric today. There’s no doubt about it. He had something to prove and he did just that (so far).

And even though it was the Giants, there’s no doubt this offense is completely different in 2019 with Kellen Moore than it was with Scott Linehan (lol).

It’s always easy to get ahead of yourself in Week 1, but the Cowboys looked pretty, pretty good today.  Or the Giants are just BIG time trash. TBD.
