Agents Are Now Apparently Just Straight Up Boycotting The NCAA Because Of Its Dumbass 'Rich Paul Rule'

I’m starting to be more convinced than ever that Rich Paul is running the world. He might be the most powerful man out there. In case you forgot, the NCAA did what the NCAA does. Trip over its own feet and become the laughingstock of the country. Now you may say, of course, but which specific time. In this case it’s when the NCAA instituted these requirements for agents:

It was dubbed the Rich Paul Rule because of the Bachelor’s Degree requirement. Note there are plenty of agents without that, but Paul is the most notorious one. Only the NCAA could screw up a positive thing. They made the right move by allowing players to work with agents and then just having to drop them by a specific date if they wanted to come back to school. Sounds perfect on paper for those testing the draft waters.

Naturally, there was backlash when this came out. Everyone from myself to Rich Paul to a million NBA players and even smaller agents all said what we all knew. The NCAA is fucking pathetic. You can tell me they were looking out to stop someone like Christian Dawkins, but let’s not pretend like the NCAA knows what it’s doing here – this is the same organization that started the Rice Commission and think that’s a success.

Fast forward a couple days and the NCAA had adjusted its statement about 3 times before Rich Paul wrote an article blasting them. 6 hours later they dropped the bachelor’s degree requirement:

And now agents are just straight up boycotting the mandatory testing? I LOVE it. Fuck the NCAA. It is the most corrupt, pathetic organization out there. I can’t say it enough. They want to control everything – including the athletes. Let them do whatever they want. If they make a mistake picking the wrong agent, that’s on them. If they want to work with a childhood friend, let them.

This is something that needs to happen to help takedown (I use that term loosely) the NCAA as we know it. If every agent just refuses to show up then what happens? The NCAA has to adjust. They can’t say okay every agent is banned. Imagine that backlash. They’ll likely drop the mandatory testing and you know, just go with who the NBPA has certified since that makes the most sense.

I know Rich Paul and LeBron are enemies here at Barstool. But the enemy of my enemy is my friend. And no one is a bigger enemy than the NCAA. We’re seeing LeBron speak out about the Fair Play Act to get a bill passed in California letting students make money on their name, likeness and image. You know – the thing I’ve screamed about for 4 years on here as to what needs to happen.

Now agents are boycotting the NCAA? Love it. Give me more of it. Do whatever it takes for the NCAA to be a logical organization.
