The Coaches Booth Dilemma Hugh Freeze Dealt With in the Middle of the Third Quarter

Liberty Football Head Coach Hugh Freeze won the first Football Guy of the Week Award in 2019 in convincing fashion. He was also today’s Pardon My Take guest, and during the interview, the man at the helm for the Flames brought up an interesting predicament he dealt with on Saturday night:

Hugh Freeze: The interesting thing is, and I’m glad no one got it on camera, is the fact that I had to have a pee break and I couldn’t move out of the bed. That was quite interesting to see my coaches, you know, they didn’t know they had signed up for that. That was about in the middle of the third quarter.

Mr. Cat: That’s fantastic. So, wait, did they shield it? Did they shield the windows? How did they do it?

Hugh Freeze: Well, they finally got the shield up because I was begging them. I said please shield it because I can’t hold it any longer. And I coached through the whole thing.

If you went to sleep away camp during your childhood, odds are you are very familiar with “The Shield.” There is a lot of trust involved whether it is bunk mate to bunk mate or counselor to camper holding up a towel or a sheet so you can change out of your bathing suit after shredding the waves at water-skiing and having a quick turnaround before your next period, basketball. All of this being done without anyone seeing. Also, when somebody in the cabin shouts, “NOBODY LOOK!” people will most certainly look.

For Hugh Freeze, his coaches had his back so he could take care of business without any interruptions. Let’s hope the Football Guy of the Week continues a speedy and safe recovery as Liberty continues its 2019 season.
