REPORT: The Cowboys Are Close To Giving Zeke 6 Years, $90 Million! LFGGGG!!!!

Let’s goooooo! Eat Zeke, eat!

I’m so proud of the Cowboys for succumbing to the pressure and giving Zeke the biggest running back deal in NFL history. We know historically how those work out (spoiler alert: not great!), so I could no be happier for all parties here. Zeke swindling the Cowboys into giving him the massive deal, handcuffing them for the forseeable future, and Jerry Jones looking weak by going against his word and giving the extension.

Of course there is a chance Zeke has a healthy and productive 10+ year NFL career. But history points to it being improbable. A guy who gets as many touches as him in the NFL does not have a long shelf life. It’s just the facts. Which is why situations like this fascinate me so much- he knows he needs to get paid NOW, and the Cowboys know it’s dumb to pay him so much. They also know the game is the game, and if you want a top 5 RB in the game on the field, you need to pony up.

What’s going to be interesting now is the ripple effect. Every player with time left on their deal can hold out and get bank. SO many players should be doing this. Or the NFL needs to start guaranteeing deals to try and stop this from being the norm.

Either way, I am very happy for Zeke and cannot wait to see what the Cowboys pay Dak.

PS: Let’s see what kind of shape he’s in after drinking all the tequila in Cabo for the last month.
