Crazy Story: Pink Floyd's Drummer Helped Save A 150-Year English Soccer Club From Being Shut Down

[Source] - BOLTON have been saved from potential extinction after a £10million offer from group Football Ventures was accepted – with the help of Pink Floyd’s drummer.

Supremo Sharon Brittan and rock icon Nick Mason finally got their way after the family of late owner Eddie Davies – the major creditor – accepted a staggered payments deal.

I don’t know if we can compare anything really to what’s happening over in England. I blogged last week about Bury – a soccer club that was forced to shut down because their owner is somehow worse than James Dolan. He bought the club for 1 Euro and then apparently just didn’t pay for shit.

They were forced to shut down earlier this week. At the same time there’s Bolton Wanderers, a club that most casual fans have heard of. Think about it – they’ve been around for 150 years and were on the brink of shutting down. That’s wild to think about.

Well that is until Pink Floyd’s drummer came in to help bail them out. I swear that reads like a madlib. Mason is part of the group that paid 10 million Euro to help save the club.

I said it last week during the whole Bury situation but I’ll say it again. European soccer continues to be the most wild thing in sports – even more THIS LEAGUE than the NBA if you ask me. We have players holding out and demanding moves. We have owners shutting down century old franchises. We have WAGs all over the place. It’s absolutely wild and I love it all.

And now just some music to listen to.
