"The Brand Is Demolished" - Lonzo Ball Telling LaVar That BBB Is Trash Seemed To Go Over Well

As time as gone on we’ve seen Lonzo Ball realize what the rest of us already know, that the BBB is pretty much a joke. He switched shoes, then all the shit went down with their shady business partner who stole $1.5M from him, Lonzo covered up his BBB tattoo and pretty much moved to Nike. Everyone with a brain knows LaVar’s BBB is a sinking ship, well apparently everyone but LaVar. I’m having a hard time trying to find the lie in what Lonzo said though, I’m pretty sure brands that aren’t demolished don’t find themselves in this situation

This is just another classic case of LaVar believing his own delusions. You see how confident he objected to that statement? What is he worried people who already aren’t buying his shit will continue to not buy his shit if he admits BBB is a gigantic bust? On one hand you can respect his dedication but on the other I think everyone has pretty much had enough with LaVar and if he can’t even get his star son to rock his gear and nobody with a brain is buying that shit, then how can he argue anything other than his brand being demolished. The topic of LaVar/Lonzo is interesting because on one hand, you can’t hate on a father supporting and repping his son the way he has with Lonzo. Yeah it was annoying every time he wound up on TV and he’s kind of a dickhead but everything he said about Lonzo pretty much came true (to some degree). But watching that trailer I couldn’t help but cringe. Seems like a guy who isn’t really about supporting his son and now has a problem with him wanting to branch out on his own, which is super fucked up. Almost like he’s mad his cash cow wants nothing to do with the BBB which is not the best look.

You almost feel bad in a sense for Lonzo at this point. All this dude probably wants is just to be a regular NBA player and focus on his new start in New Orleans who is tired of LaVar’s antics. How could you not be? Sure it’s a little ironic that this is all happening on a reality TV show that they all got because of LaVar in the fist place but I feel for Lonzo, this is probably a pretty shitty situation.

I can’t exactly say getting to this point is all that surprising given everything that’s gone down with BBB, but at least Lonzo is showing he’s capable of having some self awareness, and as long as he can stay healthy watching him play next to Zion should be a lot of fun.
