No Big Deal: Antonio Brown Arrived at Raiders Camp in a Hot Air Balloon

It’s official. The Camp Arrival has become a thing. A true cultural phenomenon that will very soon be the standard practice. Like the Promposal or the Baby Reveal. We had Jalen Ramsey showing up in a Brink’s truck:

… and now Antonio Brown, appropriately enough, flying into Raiders’ camp in a giant bag of gas. And actually outdoing his own arrival at Steelers camp last year:

Which, if you recall, worked out about as well as you’d think a Stunt Camp Arrival would work out in a sport that for 99 years had traditionally kicked off each new season with nothing more elaborate than fat guys with bad knees who blew the physical getting cut. A divided Steelers team degenerated into opposing enemy camps, Juju Smith-Schuster replaced Brown as Ben Roethlisberger’s go-to target and they missed the playoffs in a shitty division.

Since that why not double down with your new team by going bigger and better? I’m sure Al Davis, who pretty much built his roster with the social structure of a maximum security prison yard, would appreciate the irony of a $50 million wideout floating in a dirigible lecturing everyone about “commitment” and everyone putting their hand in the pile to make the Raiders great again and getting to work.

At least that’s what I think Brown said. It was hard to hear him over the sound of Al clawing at the lid of his casket. The Raiders are going to be a Hindenburg this year, I promise you.
