The Reason Brooks Koepka Ghosted Tiger Woods Is Very Simple And Logical

So that clip has been making the rounds today, Tiger saying at his press conference that Brooks Koepka ghosted him when he asked Brooks if he wanted to play a practice round before the Open. Obviously people are going, “Ohhhhhhh bad look for Tiger” but they’re looking at it completely wrong way. The reason Brooks didn’t respond to that text is very simple and logical, he doesn’t want Tiger to gain an advantage. For those that don’t know, Brooks Koepka’s caddy Ricky Elliott grew up less than a mile from Royal Portrush and knows the course extremely well. Tiger obviously knows that and wants to extract valuable information from Elliott in order to try to win major number 16. Brooks decided that he didn’t want Tiger to have that information and ghosted Tiger’s offer. Again, extremely logical move by Brooks.

Don’t get me wrong, Brooks Koepka is THE MAN right now, no one is saying he’s not THE MAN right now, I’m certainly not saying that he’s not THE MAN right now. He’s dominating majors in way that few have in the history of the sport and he will likely continue to do so. But Brooks knows that giving Tiger mother fucking Woods even the slightest of slightest edge would be a huge mistake. Tiger can still compete and win (he won the Masters, in case you forgot) so there was no chance Brooks was letting Tiger get Royal Portrush information from his caddie. Brooks is a competitor and wants to win, he’s not gonna help somebody else try and win. When you look at it in that context, Brooks had no choice but to ghost Tiger. No brainer.
