Viral Bagel Shop Man Speaks Out: He Longs For The Love Of The 60s And Compares Himself To Martin Luther King Jr. And A Prophet

From the Daily Mail:

Chris Morgan, a 45-year-old divorced, childless cleaning company owner from Long Island told the DailyMail.com what happened in the run up to that viral video.

He claims he asked for his order three times, but the girl behind the counter claimed she couldn’t understand him.

‘The third time, she smirked with her friends,’ he shared. ‘She was laughing and talking with her friends, putting her hand over her mouth and laughing, like girls do when they reject me on a date.’

And at the Bay Shore Boss Bagel, Morgan had finally reached his tipping point.

‘I got to the point where I’d had enough,’ he added.

On being tackled by a man 5x his size, (which quite frankly, he should have seen coming):

‘I was telling them I couldn’t breathe. The guy was holding me down. I had my shirt over my head and I was trying to call 911,’ Morgan explained while rambling.

‘It was the big boys all the women go for, they jumped me. The women didn’t say nothing. They keep on choosing the wrong men. Is that all women want? Tall and with a big you know what?’

Morgan, who got married in 2007 before getting divorced five years later, clarified that he was ‘tired of the immaturity.’ And while he was seen in footage being the aggressor, he asserts that he just wants ‘justice.’

And in a final bizarre note:

The 5ft even sprite proclaimed himself a ‘prophet’ and also referred to himself as ‘the modern day Martin Luther King.’

‘I have a mission. The girls hate me, they don’t like me, that’s fine,’ he added. ‘I’m not stopping and the world is going to hear me. I want equality for everybody.

He continued rambling about how he wished for the 80s to be brought back before proclaiming his love for another decade

‘Whatever happened to the love of the 60s?’ he asked. ‘When people loved each other for themselves?’

“I want equality for everybody, especially short guys like myself, and I’m going to accomplish that by hating women, throwing my bagel on the ground & screaming…” Solid plan, Mr. Morgan.

Yesterday I went through a roller coaster of emotion with this guy. First, I was glad he went viral because he flipped after you hear a lady asking him why it’s OK to ‘degrade women.’ Then I worried that maybe there were mental issues involved & he was in a really bad place & sort of lost his marbles. But after reading his quotes in The Daily Mail, I no longer want to send him bagels with a note asking if he’s ok. The guy is simply an asshole with MAJOR Napoleon complex.

As a 5’9 lady who’s been compared to “an awkward crab with Stretch Armstrong arms” & “a fucking giant!” when I wear heels, and who regularly gets DMs from dudes asking “Damn, how tall are you?!”, I get that height can be a touchy subject, and I know it is so, so much rougher for shorter men. During my time on the dating apps I’d see shorter guys admitting their height like it was a sad confession.

“Hey, I’ve got a great job, I have X,Y,Z amazing hobbies, am kind, funny, etc… but you should probably know… I’m… I’m 5’7.”

And I know that a lot of women (and men) are really judgmental of height & go for the taller guys, and some are quick to discard someone for it. (As a tall bitcc I’m a little guilty of that myself.) I can only imagine it’s pretty frustrating & hurtful.

That still doesn’t excuse this guy’s bagel shop freakout or his wacky attitude towards the gals. Sir, you can’t grow vertically, but you can still grow that crusty old heart of yours & learn from this. Or not…

The silver lining for Morgan seems to be that he’s on Long Island where this sort of thing fits right in with the vibe. Sounds like it was just another day at the office for the Bagel Boss.

On a final note to any shorter dudes reading this having trouble with the ladies, if someone doesn’t give you a chance right off the bat they’re not the kind of person you want anyway. There’s somebody out there for you, just keep your head up & keep doin’ you. Oh, and if that doesn’t work:
