And The Lowest Over/Under Win Total In The NBA Goes To.....The Cleveland Cavaliers

In theory, the Cleveland Cavaliers got better last week when they made three picks in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft.

But if betting odds are to be believed, any improvements to the Cavs’ win-loss record next season will be minimal.

According to multiple sportsbooks, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ possess an over-under win total of 23.5 for the 2019-20 season — the lowest in the entire NBA.

God damn it. Just last Friday I wrote about how the future is finally bright again for the Cavs, and now the odds-makers have to come out here and dump our half full glass? Don’t get me wrong, I would way rather be the worst team in the the NBA than be 39-43 and sit in the dreaded 9 spot in the East. This is not terrible news. I’ll gladly pick atop the NBA Lottery again next year. But I just wish that the decision was in our hands to decide to tank. Putting our win total at 23.5 means that we’re just going to flat out suck….

I’m pretty sure that this win total means we’re going to trade Kevin Love. The currently constructed Cavs roster isn’t the worst in the NBA, is it? I mean…..Collin Sexton, Cedi Osman, Darius Garland, Dylan Windler, and Kevin Porter Jr. is a pretty strong young core. And then we’ve got Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Delly, and Brandon Knight as veterans. If that is the team we put out on the floor in October, then hammer the OVER. But it’s starting to become pretty clear that our roster will be changing for the worse…

Koby Altman: I am calling for a complete overhaul of this Cavalier roster. I want someone to have to file an age discrimination lawsuit because you get rid of anyone over the age of 24. I want John Beilein solely focused on developing our young talent, and I want to be stocked with picks in the future. That’s the only way a team like Cleveland can win anymore. Hit on a couple lottery picks, and then when the time is right, package enough extra picks to bring home a top talent in a trade for a couple years and make a run at the title. There aren’t any other hometown superstars in the NBA right now, so our chances of signing anyone notable in free agency are slim to none. We need assets. Get rid of Kevin Love, go 19-63, and then draft at #1 and #8 next summer. Focus on The Process.

PS – The Knicks win total of 29.5 is a confusing one. Their current roster wins maybe 10 games….but they have two max slots open. Someone with any sort of inside information can win some biiiiig money here. Are they getting KD and tanking? Big bet on the under. Are they getting Kyrie? Kawhi? Hammer the over. I need someone with an informant inside the Knicks front office to reach out to me ASAP. Thank you.

PSS – The Lakers win total is 54.5, which is 2nd highest in the league. Hammer the UNDER. It will take time to gel with a completely new roster. Oh, and I hope AD tears his ACL. Not because I hate AD, but because I hate LeBron. It’d be fun to watch him squirm again this year.
