So Freddie Mercury Basically Just Dropped A New Alt Version Of "Time Waits For No One" And It's Incredible

Dave Clark remembers how he felt when he heard Freddie Mercury sing his song, “Time Waits for No One,” for the first time. “It gave me goosebumps,” he tells Rolling Stone. “I thought, ‘This is magic.’”

The song was originally part of Time, a musical that was spearheaded by Clark, best known as the former leader and drummer of the Dave Clark Five. When Mercury’s recording of “Time,” which Clark cowrote with John Christie, came out on the soundtrack for the musical, it was schmaltzy and heavily produced with thick layers of backing vocals and heavy drums. It was also a big hit, making it to Number 32 on the U.K. chart. Now Clark has stripped the song down to the way he originally heard it for a special release out Thursday.

I typically would never link a Rolling Stone article but I saw this on the web this morning and it needed to be shared because Freddie Mercury is a fucking God of Rock.  That goes without say.  Give this a play

A lot of times I have to listen to songs a few times before I fall in love with them.  Not this one.  This is vintage Freddie Mercury.  I don’t know a thing about singing or playing instruments, but he can hit those high notes like none other and it’s so soothing and easy to get lost in his voice.  There is no argument to be made from anyone if it was stated that he has the best voice of all time.  This song nearly brought me to goddamn tears it was so good.
