Are 'Sunburn Tattoos' Really Going To Be A Thing This Summer?

These folks are having fun in the sun — and risking their health in the process.

“Sunburn tattoos,” a body-modification trend that first tried to happen in 2015, is heating up for the summer 2019 season.

It works like this: People place stencils on exposed skin and head outside to soak up some rays. When that mission is complete, they remove the stencils to reveal “semi-permanent” designs in paler skin tones.

Shake my head, you stupid millennials. And I’m not going to be the guy to point out how sunburns increase your chance of getting skin cancer, which is the most common type of cancer in the United States and kills nearly 10,000 people each year. Instead, I’m just going to be the guy that points out that these “sunburn tattoos” look absolutely stupid.

Dude, in 20 years you’re going to have Batman shaped melanoma on your chest. Gonna be sweet.

Why? Legitimate question. Why? The Batman kid could say he was trying to be funny. This is neither funny nor cool.

A semi-visible dream catcher? If you’re going to do it at least make it good.

Sunshine is one word you stupid asshole. But then again, I guess I can’t expect someone who is getting a “sunburn tattoo” to be intelligent. Darwin will take care of this group. But I do have a question, what ever happened to the henna tattoo? For $20, these kids could get any design they want, and it would stick around for two weeks with no long-term health risks. That was my generations alternative to a permanent tattoo. The only “sunburn tattoo” that my generation liked was one like this…
