Zdeno Chara Reportedly Has A Broken Jaw

Not surprising since he didn’t finish the game, but Zdeno Chara reportedly has a broken jaw. In case you live under a rock or don’t watch hockey, Big Z took a puck to the face early in the 2nd and did not take another shift in Game 4.

Chara returned to the bench in a fishbowl but was only there for moral support. Bruce Cassidy after the game said he was advised not to return but wanted to be on the bench for his teammates.

While we don’t know his status for Game 5, it sounds like he’s done for the series. If he is, the B’s will have to dig deep. Steven Kampfer is next man up and if Matt Grzelcyk cannot return (head), Urho Vaakanainen is available. Gonna have to be a full team effort on Thursday to win. BC mentioned last night the forwards need to be better at supporting the defensemen.
