Kaapo Kakko Is Using Gypsy Magic At Worlds

I don’t have anything to say after watching this clip other than the fact Kaapo Kakko is using gypsy magic. Did he just dribble his stick? I have never even seen someone attempt dribbling their stick of the ice let alone pulling it off and scoring. Kakko pulled off the move during a shootout at Team Finland’s practice on Thursday.

I think the story of the Worlds so far has been Kaapo Kakko. The mere fact we were going to be able to see this kid play against NHL talent was one of the top headlines alone, but this kid has just taken over. In just three games so far, the 18-year-old has five goals and has helped Finland to two wins.

I know I wrote last week that I still believe Hughes will be the #1 pick, his numbers and records broken at the National Program speak for themselves. But man, Hughes is making a pretty good push for that top spot.

Would adding a guy like Kakko help keep Taylor Hall around> Hall said in his postseason presser the team lacked talent, Kakko immediately fixes that. “At this point in time, we lack some talent in positions. That’s something a lot of us are going to be looking to upgrade, whether it’s the players on our team getting better and improving or on the outside.”

All I’m saying is, things may have seemed set in stone about a month ago but as each day goes by Kaapo Kakko makes a another step towards becoming the number one overall pick.
