Hollywood Reporter: Paramount Network is taking its unscripted Rescue franchise from the bar to the altar.

The cabler has greenlit Marriage Rescue, a spinoff in which Bar Rescue star Jon Taffer tries to help couples save their unions. Taffer brings the participants to a resort in Puerto Rico and uses unconventional methods — including paintball, skydiving and no small amount of direct confrontation — to help them get a fresh start. The six-episode series premieres June 2.

Paramount has also renewed Bar Rescue for a 12-episode seventh season. The show, which has Taffer helping the owners of family-run bars revitalize their businesses, is a reliable ratings draw for the network and has shown an uptick in the key adults 18-49 demographic through the first six episodes of its current run.

Our guy Jon Taffer is getting a “Bar Rescue” spinoff called “Marriage Rescue” and if you don’t think it’s going to be must-see TV then you’re a moron who wouldn’t know entertainment if it hit you right in your dumb face.

Bar Rescue has been great Sunday hangover television for years and this concept might be even better. Can’t get enough of the idea of Jon Taffer yelling at these struggling couples at an island resort, it’s like “Couple’s Retreat” but the only marriage counselor is Taffer.   Just picture him shooting these couples with paintball guns as they cry about their failing marriages.

Jon Taffer screaming at people is always guaranteed asses in seats. Ask Office Manager Brett.

Watch this trailer and there’s no way you won’t be watching June 2nd.
