The Packers Drafted Ed Reed Last Night And I'm In Love

Last night the Packers managed to make one of the worst possible picks followed by one of the best possible picks of the entire night. I legit think Rashan Gary is a complete zero. Montez Sweat was the pick to make there and the Packers didn’t pull the trigger. Liz didn’t want Sweat because of his character issues. Gimme a fucking break. I’ll take a locker room full of character issues who are 6’6 260 and run a 4.4 than a bunch of Rashan Garys who have wildly underperformed their whole careers and knowingly take plays off. I would have rather traded the pick than take that guy.

Anyways…in the second half of the draft the Pack had pick number 30 still to make. Gute decided to be aggressive and go get his man before that, trading with Seattle to get up to number 21. Green Bay dealt the 30th pick it acquired last year in a trade with New Orleans and two fourth-rounders (No. 114 and 118) to Seattle to move up nine spots. With that pick they took Darnell Savage Jr. Listen, before we even talk about what he has done on the football field let’s take a moment to ponder if a safety named Darnell Savage Junior is going to be a hall of famer or not. Okay, that took one second because of course a guy named DARNELL SAVAGE JUNIOR is going to be unstoppable. I expect him to cause deaths on the field. People are going to be riddled with CTE once they’re done with Savage. Watch his highlight tape above.

I mean that’s Ed Reed and you cannot convince me otherwise. He FLIES around the field and hits as hard as humanly possible. As much as I hate the Rashan Gary pick, I LOVE the Savage pick. Savage will take over as the other starting safety opposite Amos and solidify a dominant secondary for the Pack that already includes Jaire Alexander, Kevin King (if he stays healthy) and Josh Jackson. They’re all young and fly to the football. What was once a major weakness for this team has now become a strength. In a year or two you just won’t be able to throw against this team.

I would do unspeakable things for Green Bay to grab Deebo Samuel somehow in the 2nd round today. At least grab AJ Brown or DK Metcalf. The Packers need to add a WR early tonight and there are a few guys that work perfectly. Go get Aaron a weapon.
