The Indians Couldn't Hit a Beach Ball Right Now and Have a Prospect Having Four-Homer Games Down in the Minors

Cleveland’s No. 25 prospect collected a career-high four long balls — including a grand slam — to power the Captains past South Bend, 12-6, on Thursday at Classic Park. In the first four-homer game in the Minors since 2014, Benson set a professional best with eight RBIs.

I want to make this clear: I am not a decision maker in the Indians front office. I actually have a spine. I actually want to win. So no, this is not coming from any source within the organization. This is a just merely a suggestion blog. And one suggestion I have for the boneheads making decisions for the Indians is to perhaps take a look at Will Benson, the prospect down in Class A ball that hit 4 home runs last night in Lake County. And I know he’s just a Class A player, I get it. Was it lightning in a bottle? Maybe. But I can tell you what isn’t lightning in a bottle: the current Indians lineup. It stinks. We have a .201 team average. We have a total of 13 home runs through the first 18 games. We rank 25th in all of baseball in hitting. And our current right fielder, Carlos Gonzalez, is hitting .214 with 0 home runs. Or do you want to call Greg Allen our right fielder? Okay, .036 average with 0 home runs. The point is that we have the pitching to be the best team in baseball. World Series contenders. But our hitting is god awful, which is suprising because management let all of our hitting walk this offseason. So I am calling for the front office to take a look into finding some bats to make this season special, so we don’t waste a year with the best pitching staff in the league. And for starters, let’s check out this dude hitting 4 bombs in a game down in Class A.
