We Are Officially (In Contention To) Going Back To Back

And there. We. GOOOOOOOOOO.

Mark it down, it was on March 28 that the Caps officially officially started their, no, our, campaign to go back to back. I say our because we were all in this together last year. After so many years of heartbreak and defeat, we were all in the battle together. Think about it. First we went down 0-2 to Columbus. Then we lost the opener to Pittsburgh. And then we still had to go to 7 on the road vs Tampa. And then after all of that, we lost game 1 on the road to Vegas, and people still said the Caps were cooked. But we, the real ones, still preservered. And it was worth it. All those years, all that heartbreak, we lifted the fucking Cup. And now it’s time to try it again this year.

It won’t be easy. Nothing’s ever simple, never easy. Especially in today’s NHL where there is so much parody. I mean shit, the Pens can still come from behind and win the Metro! But after last year all I can think is shit, why not? We never won game 1 last year. We were the infamous “chokers”. We were the team with Ovi, the well known “will never make it out of the 2nd round selfish Russian”. But yet, we did it.

The NHL playoffs are absurd. I’ve watched the Caps lose to the 8 seed as the President’s Trophy winners. It’s absolutely insane. But now we are officially in. And so all I can say is I’m ready to go back to back. I mean shit. What else can I say? We know how the playoffs work. We know how crazy they are. We did it last year, so why not do it again? The Caps are locked and loaded. I’m all aboard. We’re allllll all aboard. Let’s do it, my babes. Back to back starts now.
