Which Pro Athlete Whose Name Rhymes With "Shmole Shmamels" Got A Hole-In-One & A Home Run Within A 2 Day Span???

If your initial answer is “What kind of clickbait bullshit is this, Kate?”, then you are correct. (I’m sorry, I’m working on my clickbait skills. And hey, thanks for still being here!)

If your initial answer is “Babe Ruth”, I have some bad news for you.. You might want to sit down… Not only has Babe Ruth passed, you are bad at rhyming.

But also, if you guessed “Cubs pitcher Cole Hamels”, you’re right!

From WGN TV:

Cole Hamels is ending his first Cubs camp with a bang.

The 35-year-old southpaw hit the links with Anthony Rizzo and Jon Lester Sunday, draining his first hole-in-one before the round was over.

Hamels kept his sweet swing going against the Red Sox Monday night, launching a solo shot on to the berm in dead center.

The video (swipe over on Rizzo’s Instagram post) of the guys driving up to the green to see if it went in just makes you smile. Odds are good I’ll never know that feeling (does mini-golf or par-3 courses count?), but I imagine it’s a pretty good one. If I were Hamels I’d buy some lottery tickets to keep this streak going despite probably having a buttload of money. Is this a good sign for the Cubs this SZN?!
