The Nuggets Celebrating Their Playoff Birth Had A Very March Madness Feel

For most teams that spend the majority of the season in the top two spots of their conference, making the playoffs is no big deal. Teams like TOR/MIL/GS don’t really bat an eye at this achievement because it’s pretty much expected and their goals are much higher. But for the Nuggets this is a special accomplishment in what has been a pretty ridiculous season. We all waited for them to come back down to earth and each and every time they proved us wrong. As we sit here today they’re tied for the top spot in the West with one more matchup against GS to go, and currently have the better conference record if things get to tie breakers.

Given that it’s March and the tournament is about to start, I couldn’t help but watch that video and get some March Madness vibes. Maybe it was because they had to use water and reacted like a bunch of 20 somethings mostly because the majority of their roster would technically still be in college. They look like a team that just pulled off a huge upset and is moving on, and that celebration was as genuine as it comes. Remember, this is the team that missed out on the playoffs last year to MIN by losing the last game of the season (at home) to em, and this is DENs first trip back to the postseason in 6 seasons. Hell you look at their playoff history and they haven’t been past the first round more than once since 1994. You damn right this is something worth celebrating.

Now things certainly won’t be easy due to the fact that every team in the West top 8 is a problem, and it’s still way too early to start thinking about who their matchup might be given their race with GS and the reality that the 5-8 seeds are separated by just 1 game, but the one thing we know for sure is the Nuggets are no joke and are very much for real. They’re not only the best clutch fourth quarter team in the NBA, have the 2nd best point differential in the conference, have the same amount of wins against .500 or better teams as GS, and are an NBA best 30-6 at home.

Remember when Chuck came out in January and predicted this team was going to the WCF? Well he may have been onto something
