Will Smith Dropped A New Aladdin Trailer On His Instagram And It Is SOMETHING

There is a certain category of movies that no matter how well they’re remade will never be as good as the original. Aladdin is one of those movies. The energy the Robin Williams and the rest of the cast were able to inject into their characters will never be replicated. Not even by Will Smith. I remember after Robin Williams died, footage of him recording the Genie was released and to this day it’s one of my favorite things on the internet.

So naturally I was skeptical when the trailer came out. Aladdin definitely wasn’t broke, so it didn’t need fixin’. But I have to say, I’m pleasantly surprised. Obviously, it’ll never be as good as the original, but when I heard the music kick in I got goosebumps. Friend Like Me, Prince Ali, One Jump. The entire soundtrack was unbelievable.

It’s also live-action (which I hate), but it’s not over the top like it was in the Jungle Book. At least not from what I saw in the trailer. It seems tolerable. Granted it could just be nostalgia that has me excited, but as of right now I’m sold on this movie. I also need to support the tribe. Looking at you, Jafar.
