NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio Danced Away His Shot At The Presidency To R Kelly's "I Believe I can Fly" In A Southern Church

NY Daily News- While in South Carolina feeling out a presidential bid, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio danced to the R. Kelly song “I Believe I Can Fly,” spreading his arms like wings and flapping along with other members of the congregation.

“No, he didn’t know whose song it is,” de Blasio spokesman Eric Phillips told the Daily News via e-mail. “The Mayor wasn’t the church’s DJ, and he certainly can’t be expected to recognize every R. Kelly track. Thanks.”

lol. Of all the ways to hurt your chances of becoming president, this is one of the greatest. Good lord almighty. Ol’ Billy De Blazeitup went down to South Carolina and hit up a church, probably thinking that would look GREAT to the voters. Problem is, the clip that went viral was of him waving his arms like a goose to a song made famous by a man who the entire world fucking HATES right now. R Kelly is public enemy number 1. The dude is praying for Bin Laden to come back to life to take some of the heat off him. Hell, R Kelly brought everyone together last week. He had people reaching across the aisle, forgetting their differences, to unite in their hatred of him. For presidential hopefuls, the music of R Kelly is not the soundtrack you want for your life these days.

I do believe that De Blasio had no idea what was going on. Logic tells us that William De Blasio would not knowingly support the music of R Kelly by dancing to it, if he has any fucking clue what’s going on. What’s he supposed to do? Sit down and protest the music choice made by the church he’s in? Maybe if they had sung Remix to Ignition or Bump ‘N Grind, his plausible deniability would be dust. But all he hears is a soaring, hymnal rendition emanating from the congregation. I guarantee you his handlers told him “just do what they’re doing” beforehand, and that’s why he flapped his wings. When in Rome…

But, you know, it doesn’t matter. The internet killed him. Goodnight, sweet prince. May R Kelly sing thee to thy rest.
