Imagine Thinking The Guy With Another Man's Nuts On His Head Made The Better Play

I know I posted this video in the blog about Nevada’s team following the loss to Utah State. But, it got a bit lost in that blog because of all the other craziness. I slept on it, woke up and guess what?

I’m still so pissed off at everyone involved here. I’m pissed at Sam Merrill for taking the charge. I’m pissed at Carter Blackburn for saying ‘the charge is better than the dunk.’ I’m pissed at the refs for rewarding a guy for falling over. But imagine being Blackburn or anyone like that right now. In what world is the charge better than the dunk?

You can’t reward that. First off, it’s not even a charge. He’s still sliding. But, I’m not surprised. The officiating in this game was just completely awful for both teams. It was one of the worst officiated games of the year. NCAA officials also have no idea what’s a charge/block and what’s over the back, so the fact that there’s a chance they get this right is a 50/50 call.

All I know is, this is my least favorite player in America. I mean I appreciate the troll dance, but you can’t celebrate a charge. Your boy got nuts on his head and an old man trying to officiate the game made the wrong call.

It’s a rule change year in college hoops. Something has to be done in order to fix the charge call. You obviously can’t ban it because there are offensive fouls. But, if you get dunked on like this, it’s not a charge. Also officials need to learn to stop just watching the feet. They focus so much on the feet that they can’t even see when Martin takes off to dunk. That’s the problem here. Martin is already int he air while Merrill gets set. It’s not that hard to do.

But in no way is standing there and falling over more impressive than dunking.
