Start Valentine's Week With Tekashi 6ix9ine's Bizarre Sex Shop Ad / Domestic Violence PSA

First of all, shout out to Mitchell here for noticing the small print:

Second, if you’re interested in script writing get out your notebook because this commercial is a masterclass:

Store worker 1: Welcome to Romantic Depot. How can I help you guys?

Tekashi 6ix9ine: Yeah, we ready to spice things up. ::innuendo wink face at woman he brought in::

Store worker 1: You do know, you have to know your partner’s limitations.

Tekashi 6ix9ine (unconvincingly): I agree. When I was younger I used to make a lot of stupid mistakes. I’m ready to learn more.

Store worker 2: Get informed! Help stop violence against women. Visit a Romantic Depot near you & pick up your free pamphlet.

Tekashi 6ix9ine: Thanks for Romantic Depot I now know how to treat women with dignity & respect.

Announcer voice: Visit Romantic Depot Rockland!

Tekashi 6ix9ine: Make sure you go visit Romantic Depot for all your Valentine’s gifts!

What makes this whole thing so cringeworthy? I’d be remiss if I didn’t note that among those “stupid mistakes” he says he “used to make” in the ad… Last year Tekashi, AKA Daniel Hernandez, pleaded guilty to filming a 13-year-old child perform oral sex on a grown man in 2015.

And just last week his ex-girlfriend Sara Molina came forward to say he had physically beaten her continuously throughout their 7 year relationship. Speaking with The Daily Beast to recount one particular attack where he punched her in the head so hard she had blood leaking down her face:

She said Tekashi accused her of allowing his manager, Kifano “Shotti” Jordan, to seek more than her friendship. He apparently hoped to elicit a confession from her by confessing himself to sleeping with more than 70 other women in the past year, resulting in multiple pregnancies. She said he told her he had acquired multiple STDs.

So I highly doubt Romantic Depot’s shitty free pamphlet taught him to treat women with dignity & respect now, and it blows my mind that anyone would be stupid enough to allow him in that clip… It’s insulting to anyone who’s ever experienced domestic violence that they’d use this absolute rainbow colored dumpster fire of a man to be in a domestic violence PSA (that’s also just really a Valentine’s sex shop ad).

It goes without saying, but if you’re physically abusing anyone, whether it’s a man, woman, child, animal whatever… ya ain’t shit. And you certainly don’t belong in public access channel dildo commercials.

What a bizarre scenario & confusing move all around for a company that caters to women. The only thing I know for sure? This week I will not be buying my enormous, vibrating double sided dildo from Romantic Depot, and that’s a promise. ::pats self on back::
